One of the most inspiring visual narrative blog I have seen lately: what love looks like?

“Happiness comes from the obstacles.”—Reuben
“Heisenberg showed that the more precisely one determines the position of an atomic particle, the less one can know about its speed. These shy qualities reverse their roles: the more exactly a particle’s velocity is measured, the more elusive its location becomes.
“‘Science does not describe and explain nature,’ Heisenberg concluded, but ‘nature as exposed to our method of questioning.’”—A General Theory of Love

Very attractive illustration of an idea to explain the universe: “Descartes’s Mechanical Philosophy: According to French philosopher René Descartes (1596-1650), the universe operated as a continuously running machine which God had set in motion. Since he rejected Newton’s theory of gravity and idea of a vacuum in space, Descartes argued that instead the universe was composed of a “subtle matter” he named “plenum,” which swirled in vortices like whirlpools and actually moved the planets by contact. Here, these vortices carry the planets around the Sun.”

Design Library Istanbul.

DesignLibrary is the first library fully dedicated to design that opens in Istanbul after Milan and Shanghai with the purpose of extending the international network that gathers up the knowledge of the design culture. The location of the Turkish branch of DesignLibrary is Eski Sapka Fabrikasi – an old hat factory on the shore of the Golden Horn. (via hazal)

Wow, this sounds super interesting for the future of design scene in Istanbul. I hope there will some books from the old ottoman and middle-east design and illustration culture.

Dubai to Build the World’s Largest Arch Bridge in 2012. It seems very large and dominating, curious to see the real one. Is it only me or always there are nice renderings of Architecture of Dubai, however, there are not many real pictures from there? Maybe they like to pay for concepts more than real buildings.
